After a stunning debut in Ghana, the highly anticipated Rooted Hair & Fashion Show is bringing its vibrant celebration of heritage and self-expression to American soil. Set for Saturday, June 7th, 2025, at The Bethesdan, this cultural spectacle promises to be a journey through time, tracing the shared roots of African and African-American identities through fashion, hair, and performance.
Produced by the visionary Shanice Styles, the upcoming U.S. edition will elevate the Rooted experience to new heights; showcasing a bold and imaginative blend of African and American aesthetics through hair artistry, fashion design, and storytelling. This edition’s creative force is powered by an elite team of artists and innovators. The runway will be brought to life under the creative direction of Jojo, Evette, Shanice, and TAC, with model coordination led by Cashaéy. Audiences can expect an expertly curated lineup that honors tradition while pushing stylistic boundaries.
Performances by COLL and LACIE will infuse the evening with musical brilliance, bridging art forms in a celebration of diasporic unity. On the decks, DJ Jewill will bring the vibe, while charismatic host Gabby Royal keeps the energy high throughout the evening. The runway will see a diverse array of looks from emerging fashion labels such as Afro Plus, TMW Yvonne Ex, and Peasantry, each bringing their own distinct voice to the Rooted narrative.
Doors open at 4 PM, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early to soak in the pre-show atmosphere and secure prime seating.
Rooted invites you to step into a space where culture is celebrated, stories are honored, and fashion becomes a force of connection. Whether you're a fashion enthusiast, cultural creative, or simply someone who values the beauty of heritage, the Rooted Hair & Fashion Show is your destination this summer.
