March may have passed, but the echoes of elegance, creativity, and cultural celebration from the Rooted Hair & Fashion Show at The Woods still resonate. For those fortunate enough to have witnessed the event firsthand, the experience remains unforgettable. And for those who missed it, no words can quite capture the exhilarating blend of heritage, style, and artistic brilliance that unfolded on the runway.
On Saturday, 15th March 2025, The Woods, located in Accra, Ghana, was transformed into a vibrant nexus where Ghanaian and American cultures converged through hair, fashion, and self-expression. The Rooted Hair and Fashion Show was a bold statement of identity, a celebration of roots, and a testament to the ever-evolving dialogue between African and diasporic fashion influences. Under the visionary leadership of MarQuasha Shanice, CEO of Shanice Styles, and Delight Dzansi CEO of alkeBULANPrints, the event delivered an evening of pure bliss, drawing designers, stylists, creatives, and fashion aficionados into an immersive celebration of culture and artistry.

The runway became a stage for storytelling, where designers wove narratives of resilience, beauty, and innovation into their collections. Every stitch, every braid, every stride down the catwalk was an affirmation of heritage and individuality. The interplay between traditional African textiles and contemporary Western influences painted a picture of global fashion evolution, proving that culture is not static but dynamic and ever-expanding.
Beyond the spectacle, the Rooted Hair & Fashion Show provided an invaluable space for networking, collaboration, and community-building. The event brought together a diverse array of designers, stylists, photographers, influencers, and industry insiders, fostering connections that extended beyond the evening’s festivities.
The presence of notable figures in fashion and wellness further elevated the event’s impact. Eve of Eveseye Productions, with her magnetic presence as host, kept the audience engaged and energized throughout the night.

Meanwhile, the red carpet experience, curated by none other than award-winning wellness and lifestyle coach Kamshuka, added an extra touch of sophistication and glamour. This segment of the show provided a platform for attendees to showcase their own interpretations of cultural fusion through fashion, reinforcing the event’s overarching message of self-expression and empowerment.

Rooted proved to be more than just a one-night affair. Without a doubt, the event has set the stage for a broader dialogue on the significance of cultural representation in fashion and beauty. Looking ahead, excitement is already building for the U.S. edition, slated for June 7, 2025. With the promise of another chapter of cultural fusion, breathtaking artistry, and a celebration of roots and reinvention, Rooted is poised to continue its mission of bridging continents and communities through fashion and self-expression.
For now, those who attended the Accra edition carry with them not just memories but a renewed appreciation for the power of fashion as a cultural force. The Rooted Hair & Fashion Show was a testament to the past, present, and future of Black excellence in fashion and beauty.
