Nigerian superstar Davido has set the stage for an exhilarating 2025 with the announcement of his forthcoming album, 5ive. The highly anticipated project marks his fifth studio effort, slated for release on March 14, 2025. Known for redefining Afrobeat's global reach, Davido revealed the album’s title and concept via an electrifying Instagram post, signaling a deeply personal and transformative era in his music journey.
"THE JOURNEY CONTINUES in 2025 with my new album, 5IVE!! This one is straight from the heart – my story, my truth, my growth,” the four-time Grammy nominee wrote, igniting excitement among his millions of fans worldwide.
But Davido isn’t leaving fans in suspense. Ahead of the album drop, he is kicking off the rollout with a new single, Funds, featuring Nigerian stars Chike and Odumodublvck. The track, set to release on November 6, 2024, promises to be an anthem for dreamers and go-getters. “This one’s for everyone chasing what’s theirs!” Davido declared, urging fans to join him in making history again.
Funds will be the second track teased from 5ive, following the earlier release of Awuke, a collaboration with YG Marley that showcased Davido’s knack for fusing Afrobeat with innovative sounds.
Adding to the buzz, Davido’s upcoming album is expected to include a much-anticipated collaboration with Omah Lay. In a recent interview, Omah Lay hinted that their track is a seamless blend of their unique styles, fueling speculation about the album’s potential impact on the music scene.
With 5ive, Davido aims to build on the unprecedented success of his 2023 album Timeless, which broke streaming records and solidified his status as a global music icon. Fans are already speculating about the album’s tracklist and possible guest features, hoping for more boundary-pushing collaborations and heartfelt storytelling.
