Taaooma, born Maryam Apaokagi-Greene, rose to fame with her relatable skits that humorously depict everyday Nigerian life. She and Abula, a gifted filmmaker and video editor, first crossed paths in Ilorin, Kwara State, during Abula’s National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) year. Their shared passion for storytelling through film and editing created a bond that led to a whirlwind romance.
In 2020, Abula orchestrated a surprise proposal in Namibia, where Taaooma spent part of her childhood. Speaking about the proposal, she once shared, “It came as a shock because I had no clue he was planning it right under my nose. I remember him giving me something to try on my hands—it turned out to be a ring sizer! Seeing all my friends and saying yes to my best friend was an unforgettable moment.”
The couple tied the knot in January 2021 but kept their union low-key until their first wedding anniversary, surprising fans with celebratory posts. Now, with the arrival of baby Amani, their love story has taken an exciting new turn.
Fans and well-wishers continue to flood social media with warm messages for the couple, whose journey from a quiet partnership to becoming one of Nigeria’s most beloved creative duos has inspired many.
