Nicki Minaj, the Queen of Rap, has once again taken the music world by storm with the release of the 10th-anniversary edition of her groundbreaking album The Pinkprint. Originally released in December 2014, the album delivered iconic hits like “Anaconda” and “Only,” cementing Minaj’s legacy in the music industry. This revamped edition, launched on November 22, 2024, offers fans not only nostalgia but a fresh soundscape, featuring four new tracks and an impressive roster of global stars.
Among the standout collaborations is Nigerian superstar Davido, who joins Minaj and French DJ David Guetta on the Afro-fusion-influenced track “If It’s Okay.” This marks Davido’s second partnership with Minaj, following their successful collaboration on “Holy Ground” from his 2020 album A Better Time. Davido, a Grammy-nominated artist known for his vibrant contributions to Afrobeat, brings a distinct energy to the track, symbolizing the growing global influence of African music.
Taking to her X account, Minaj expressed heartfelt gratitude to Davido for his involvement. Her post not only highlighted their artistic synergy but also resonated with her Nigerian fans, who often delight in her occasional use of pidgin English on the platform.
Other new tracks on the anniversary edition include “Turn Yo Cap Back” featuring Swae Lee, “Arctic Tundra” with posthumous vocals from Juice WRLD, and “Remember Me,” a soulful collaboration with Parker Ighile. Each song showcases Minaj’s versatility and her commitment to evolving her artistry.
Since its original release, The Pinkprint has remained a defining body of work in Minaj’s career, often hailed as a blueprint for female rap albums. This 10th-anniversary release reaffirms her status as one of the greatest rappers of all time, bridging the gap between her iconic past and her dynamic present.
The album not only celebrates Minaj’s illustrious journey but also underscores the global interconnectedness of music today, blending sounds and voices from across continents. Fans worldwide are relishing the fusion of old favorites and new gems, solidifying The Pinkprint as a timeless masterpiece.
